1. Ice Hockey

Ice hockey is regarded as the most popular sport in Canada and has been named as Canada’s official national sport. The National Hockey League (NHL), the Canadian Ice hockey league, is established both in Canada and the US. 2. Lacrosse

Lacrosse was declared a Canada’s national game in 1859 and a summer sport in 1994. The sport is governed by the Canadian Lacrosse Association formed in 1925 and is played by thousands of people across the country.

3. Soccer

Soccer has become popular in Canada for many years. Although soccer was played under a variety of rules in Canada, the main concept of soccer was there. The first soccer match took place in Toronto in 1876 between two local clubs.

Canada organized the FIFA Women’s World cup in 2015 which lasted for about one month. Soccer earns the third place in the list of top ten most popular sports in Canada.
